PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Sully (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Sully!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Donnie Fisher!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sully takes the fight into the clinch.
Sully drops down looking for an ankle pick but Fisher pulls his leg out and moves away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Fisher fails to land with a series of punches.
Fisher throws a right and a left that both miss.
Fisher jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Sully moves in looking to clinch but Fisher pushes him off.
Sully lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Fisher on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Sully showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fisher.
Sully throws out a powerful jab.
Fisher lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sully circles away quickly and effectively.
Sully lands a jab.
Sully shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fisher as he jumps to the side.
Sully digs a good hook to Fisher's body.
Sully fails with an attempt to clinch.
Fisher misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Fisher throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Sully counter with a right hand.
Sully works over Fisher's head and body with a nice combination.

Sully is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Fisher's half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sully wants to work for an arm triangle but Fisher is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sully sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Fisher defending well though.
Sully is trying to control. Fisher wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Fisher tries to get to full guard but Sully has control of the leg.
Sully thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fisher's head.
Sully thows a huge punch but Fisher dodges it nicely.
Sully trying to control from half guard but Fisher is working away.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sully avoids a punch combination nicely.
Fisher misses with a double jab
and Sully counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Fisher looks gassed!
Sully lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Fisher looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Sully darts in and clinches Fisher up against the cage.
Fisher's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Sully escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sully slips a jab and a cross from Fisher.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fisher stuffs the takedown attempt from Sully. Sully gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Sully. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sully scores with a nice head shot.
Sully avoids a punch combination nicely.
Donnie Fisher is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd cheers as Sully lands an impressive looking overhand right. Fisher doesn't seem phased though.
Sully swinging wildly here.

Sully gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sully tries for a kimura but Fisher is defending well.
Sully lands a decent elbow from side control.
Fisher is trying to improve his position.

Sully is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fisher has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sully trying to control the action but Fisher is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fisher can't do much from the bottom here.
Sully working the head and body with strikes.
Sully has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Fisher!
Fisher is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Fisher takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Sully lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Sully is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Fisher can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Fisher is rocked!

Sully is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Sully!
