Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giido Bushido (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Manuel Rios!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Giido Bushido!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bushido throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Rios moves out of range of the body kick from Bushido.
Giido Bushido seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bushido looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rios is fending him off so far but Bushido persists. Nope, Rios circles away and we're back to standing.
Bushido throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Rios.
Horrible takedown by Bushido or perhaps it was just good defense by Rios which made him look bad.
Rios looks to land a combination but Bushido avoids it well.
A right-left combo lands from Bushido.
Rios swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bushido counters with a body kick.
Rios keeps the fight on the outside.

Rios shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Rios lands strikes from half guard.
Bushido wants to get back to his feet.
Bushido on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Bushido is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rios content to control rather than advance.
Rios lands strikes from half guard.
Bushido is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bushido is refusing to be controlled, as Rios sits in half guard.
Ground and pound from Rios.
Rios wants to take a breather but Bushido is having none of it.
Bushido really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rios. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rios thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bushido's head.
Bushido landing rabbit punches to the side of Rios's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.
Bushido wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Rios seems to be looking for submissions.
Rios content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Rios is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Manuel Rios just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Bushido throws a sloppy head kick and Rios moves out of range easily.

Rios looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rios is trying to control. Bushido wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Bushido is looking for a sweep. Rios is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rios is trying to control the action in half guard but Bushido is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Rios throwing shots but Bushido is blocking nicely.
Bushido is trying to stand up here but Rios is controlling him well.
Rios wants to control but Bushido is keeping him busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rios throws a leg kick
and Bushido counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Bushido lands with a shot to the body.
Bushido throws a series of strikes that have Rios backpedaling.
Rios throws a jab when Bushido was well out of range.
Bushido throws a head kick that Rios semi-blocks.
Rios avoids the head kick by Bushido.
Rios connects with a solid leg kick.
Rios keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bushido tries a head kick but it misses.
Bushido connects with a high kick.

and Bushido counters with a head kick. That will keep Rios thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Rios wants to clinch.

Rios closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rios is looking to advance position but Bushido won't allow it.
Well, if Rios is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Rios has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rios prevents Bushido from improving his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bushido blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rios.
Bushido is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rios scores with a couple of nice shots.

Rios decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Bushido throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Rios decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Bushido pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rios stuffs the takedown.
Manuel Rios is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bushido throws a left and a right that both miss

and Rios counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Rios trying to control the position from guard on top but Bushido is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Rios is really struggling to control Bushido but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Bushido plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bushido takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Bushido gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Rios counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Rios controls from within his opponent's guard.

Rios decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bushido, up you get!

and Rios counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Manuel Rios has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Giido Bushido.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rios controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Bushido is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Rios wants to control from the top but Bushido keeps moving.
Bushido is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Manuel Rios overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bushido looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Rios passes into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rios looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Bushido throws a shot to the body.
Bushido misses with an attempted mid kick.
Bushido tries to clinch there but Rios circles away.

Rios fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bushido sprawls well initially but Rios persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Rios decides to stand and escape the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bushido throws a sloppy head kick and Rios moves out of range easily.
Bushido misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Rios tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bushido swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Rios closes the distance and clinches.

Rios wants to break free but Bushido has control.
Rios misses with an elbow strike.
Bushido is trying to break the clinch but Rios has him pressed against the cage.

Rios shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rios showed some decent athleticism there.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bushido throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Bushido working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rios doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rios manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rios gets to his feet. Bushido looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Bushido wants to control but Rios is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Rios looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Bushido is refusing to be controlled, as Rios sits in half guard.
Bushido tries to roll over but Rios keeps him under control.
Rios prevents Bushido from standing back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Manuel Rios showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rios, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
