Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rampage Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TONY MARONE (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua's entrance music is Because I got High. A fine choice. Rampage Rua has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua shoots in but no luck this time.
MARONE closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
MARONE gets a trip takedown into half guard.
MARONE passes the guard and advances to mount!
Rua is working to get back to half guard.
MARONE tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Rua wants to control but MARONE is having none of it.
MARONE is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Rua is surviving well by controlling MARONE's body position as best he can.

MARONE controlling from mount.
Rua is in a horrible position here. MARONE smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Rua is looking to get to half guard.
MARONE looking to control and managing it successfully.
MARONE lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Rua is wriggling around trying to escape.
Rua is bucking up trying to escape but MARONE cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
MARONE looking to secure an arm triangle but Rua defends it well.
MARONE lands with some strikes.
MARONE has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rua's face.

MARONE can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rua is looking to escape.

Rua is breathing heavily.
MARONE breaks from Rua's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rua is working to get back to half guard.
MARONE controlling the position easily from mount.

MARONE stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Rua.
Rua trying to control the action but MARONE is working from the bottom.
MARONE sneaks out the side door and pushes Rua away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

MARONE decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

MARONE working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
TONY MARONE has got the better of the ground game so far.

MARONE is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Rua is looking to improve his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

MARONE seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rua does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
MARONE works his way into full mount!
MARONE tries to control but Rua wriggling away.
MARONE manages to capitalize on a mistake by Rua to take his back!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Oooh a big shot gets through from MARONE. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Rua is trapped and MARONE is scoring with shots to the head and body.
I would not like to be Rua right now.
Rua grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Rua wants to escape the position.
Rua is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
MARONE scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Rua is looking for a way out.

Rua looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
MARONE looking for the RNC.
Rua trying to get back to his feet but MARONE is in full control for now.
MARONE is hanging on to Rua's back as he tries to escape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
MARONE is working the ground and pound. Can Rua escape?
MARONE has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
MARONE looking for the choke but no joy.
Rua covers up after that shot from MARONE.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
MARONE is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Rua up.
MARONE biding his time, looking for the opening.

TONY MARONE showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
MARONE circles away from the clinch attempt.
MARONE lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
MARONE scores with a takedown into Rua's guard.
MARONE stops Rua from standing up.
Rua looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
MARONE gets to his feet - Rua follows without any prompting.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
MARONE lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rua's sensitive parts.

MARONE shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Rua is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
MARONE stays in close to Rua's body and controls the position.
MARONE decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rua, up you get!
MARONE lands a nice shot to the body.
MARONE throws a series of punches but Rua moves out of range.

Rua closes the distance and pushes MARONE back into the cage.
MARONE tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rua just stands there and leans against the cage.
MARONE breaks from the clinch.
MARONE tries to close the distance and clinch but Rua swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rua throws the kick towards the body but MARONE avoids it.
Rua shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
MARONE sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
MARONE pushes Rua off and gets back to his feet.
Rua lands a front kick.
Rua ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
MARONE shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rua manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
MARONE wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving.

MARONE is pushing down on Rua's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rua is fighting to maintain full guard but MARONE has managed to sneak the leg through.
MARONE performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
MARONE is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rua defends it well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
MARONE content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
MARONE is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
MARONE works his way into full mount!
Rampage Rua has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
TONY MARONE is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
