Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Matt Ghandi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Red Slayer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ghandi comes to the cage accompanied by I Wish. Matt Ghandi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Ghandi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Red Slayer!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ghandi closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Ghandi fails to pull guard.
Ghandi is trying to break free.
Slayer is pushing Ghandi up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Slayer receives a warning from the referee for stalling.
Ghandi is trying to break the clinch but Slayer is controlling him.

Ghandi jumps guard and drags Slayer to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Slayer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Slayer postures up in Ghandi's guard and throws a big left but Ghandi blocks it.
Slayer wants to control from the top but Ghandi keeps moving.
Ghandi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Slayer drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ghandi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Slayer has Ghandi in his guard.
Slayer is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Slayer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ghandi defends it easily.

Ghandi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Slayer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ghandi has managed to get both his arms back between Slayer's legs - danger averted.

Slayer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ghandi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Slayer is looking to stand up but Ghandi isn't so interested in that idea.
Ghandi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Ghandi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ghandi postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Slayer can do anything to dispel that myth.

Slayer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ghandi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ghandi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Slayer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ghandi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ghandi stands up from Slayer's guard - Ghandi perhaps looking for a knockout.
Ghandi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ghandi stuffs the takedown attempt from Slayer. Slayer gets slowly back to his feet.
Slayer blocks a head kick by Ghandi.
Slayer displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ghandi.

Ghandi gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Slayer wants to control from the top but Ghandi keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Slayer might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ghandi kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Slayer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

A close round but Red Slayer will probably get the nod.

Ghandi gets caught flat footed, as Slayer shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Ghandi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Ghandi controls Slayer momentarily but Slayer frees himself.
Slayer is looking to work some ground and pound but Ghandi has wrist control.

Slayer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Slayer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ghandi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Slayer, into his guard.

Slayer looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Slayer tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Slayer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ghandi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Slayer is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ghandi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Slayer is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ghandi's half guard.
Slayer is looking to advance position but Ghandi won't allow it.

Ghandi is looking for a sweep. Slayer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Slayer wants to work for an arm triangle but Ghandi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Slayer is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Slayer thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Red Slayer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Slayer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Slayer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Slayer wants to stand but Ghandi has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Slayer is trying to control the action in half guard but Ghandi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Slayer wants to control from the top but Ghandi keeps moving.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ghandi is defended easily by Slayer.

Slayer scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Slayer lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Slayer is trying to control. Ghandi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Matt Ghandi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ghandi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Slayer is fending him off so far but Ghandi persists. Nope, Slayer circles away and we're back to standing.

Red Slayer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Slayer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
