Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucca Turpitudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Banks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cody Banks is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lucca Turpitudo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cody Banks!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turpitudo throws an overhand right that lands on Banks's shoulder, as Banks tries to avoid the shot.

Turpitudo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Banks.
Banks is looking to clinch.
Banks wants to clinch up but Turpitudo keeps it at a distance.
Banks throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Banks tries to clinch but Turpitudo is having none of it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Banks looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Turpitudo has picked Banks up - he's going for a ride! Turpitudo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Turpitudo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Banks has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Turpitudo is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Banks is not content to let Turpitudo control the position.
Turpitudo passes the guard and advances to mount!
Banks is in a horrible position here. Turpitudo smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Turpitudo avoids the attempt from Banks to control.

Turpitudo tries to control but Banks wriggling away.
Turpitudo with shots to the head and body - Banks looks very uncomfortable down there.

Turpitudo looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Banks wants to hold on but Turpitudo pushes him away.

Turpitudo wants to control the pace but Banks is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Banks stops Turpitudo from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Banks is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Turpitudo looking for a guillotine from mount but Banks is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turpitudo misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Lucca Turpitudo will probably get the nod.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turpitudo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Turpitudo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Banks circles away quickly and effectively.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Banks throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Banks moves in looking to clinch but Turpitudo pushes him off.
Turpitudo thows a body shot but no joy.
Banks is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Turpitudo dives in and grabs Banks's left leg, looking for a takedown. Banks pushes down on Turpitudo's head and hops out.

Banks tries to close the distance and clinch but Turpitudo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Turpitudo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Banks is aware though and is defending well.

Banks trying to control the position from guard on top but Turpitudo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Banks might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Turpitudo kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Banks lands with a kick to the temple. Turpitudo shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Turpitudo comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Banks wants to clinch but Turpitudo slips to the side

and Turpitudo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Turpitudo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Banks's head.
Turpitudo is trying to control the action in half guard but Banks is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Turpitudo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Turpitudo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
