A fine choice. Jack has chosen Bring The Pain as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Joe Jack enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rutten looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Rutten with a flurry of punches that miss.
Jack wants to stand but Rutten is controlling the position.
Rutten throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jack is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Rutten slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Jack wants to stand and escape but Rutten is having none of it.
Rutten passes Jack's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Rutten is looking for a kimura but Jack is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rutten to get the leverage.
Rutten stops Jack from getting back to his feet.
Jack is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Still in half guard, Rutten seems content to control.
Jack is trying to stand up here but Rutten is controlling him well.
Rutten moves into full mount! Jack won't be happy about that!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Jack is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Rutten lands with some strikes.
Rutten has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jack's face.

Rutten connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

It looks like Joe Jack has been cut.
Jack's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rutten fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Joe Jack's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Joe Jack's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
