Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Wax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hans Zeryvanovsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wax comes to the cage accompanied by Never Quit. Hans Zeryvanovsky struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 207.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Charlie Wax had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wax shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Zeryvanovsky moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Wax postures up in Zeryvanovsky's guard and throws a big left but Zeryvanovsky blocks it.

Wax takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Wax frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Wax takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Wax has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wax has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Zeryvanovsky's face.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Zeryvanovsky really wants to buck Wax off and get back to his feet.

Zeryvanovsky has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Wax is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Zeryvanovsky.

Wax throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Zeryvanovsky on the side of the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
