PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jannik Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hansen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Jester Race. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wayne Brown!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown fails with a takedown attempt.
Brown fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Hansen gets caught flat footed, as Brown shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Brown is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hansen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hansen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Brown drops back looking for a leg! Hansen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hansen manages to kick Brown off! Brown jumps back into Hansen's guard.

Hansen has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Brown off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

No luck for Brown with that takedown attempt.
Jannik Hansen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wayne Brown.
Brown moves out of range of the strikes.
Hansen looks to land a left hand but Brown moved out of range nicely.
Hansen throws out a powerful jab.

It looks like Wayne Brown has been cut.
Brown is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hansen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Brown looks gassed!
Hansen misses with a hook.
Brown slips under a jab from Hansen.
Brown avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Brown closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hansen is pushing Brown's head away, looking to escape. Brown manages to hold on to the position though.

Brown tries for a kimura but Hansen is defending well.
Hansen is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Brown is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hansen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hansen is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Brown is controlling him well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hansen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hansen stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hansen looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Brown is rocked!

Hansen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Hansen bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Brown! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Brown is still in real trouble! Can Hansen finish him?

Hansen stands up and waves to Brown to follow him.

Brown shoots for a double leg takedown but Hansen sprawls well. He's pushed Brown's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Brown seems to have recovered his senses.
A big right from Hansen misses.
Brown moves out of range as Hansen strikes.
Hansen fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Brown to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Brown looks to clinch but Hansen throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Brown taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
