PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pac Roids (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jang wang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roids comes to the cage accompanied by Edit Mix. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that jang wang was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Pac Roids!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, jang wang!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roids slaps away a takedown attempt from wang, before circling back to the center of the mat.
wang dives in and grabs Roids's left leg, looking for a takedown. Roids pushes down on wang's head and hops out.
wang is trying hard to land a takedown here. Roids sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Pac Roids has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of jang wang.
Roids connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Roids fails with an attempt to clinch.
Roids stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Roids wants it to stay on the feet.
wang fails to land the takedown.
wang shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
wang looks gassed!

wang shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Roids manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Roids looking for a sweep. Not yet Roids, not yet.
Roids is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Roids tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Roids lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for wang!
Roids fails to take his opponent's back.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Roids has control of wang's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and wang regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
wang can't escape the position.
Roids looking to control but wang is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
wang keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Roids is going oldschool here, as he tries to force wang to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so wang shrugs it off.

Roids working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. wang looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Roids! Submission of the night perhaps?

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Pac Roids!
