Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Alves with that takedown attempt.
Alves shoots in but no luck this time.
Leopold scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Alves doesn't seem bothered though.
Alves tries to score a power double leg takedown but Leopold sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alves somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corey Alves. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Leopold moves into range and connects with a jab.
Alves takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Alves closes the distance and clinches up with Leopold, looking for a takedown. Alves pushes Leopold against the cage but Leopold circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Alves wants to slow Leopold down by chopping away at his legs.

Alves shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Leopold is trying to defend but Alves finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leopold bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alves's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Leopold seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Leopold's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Despite being in the dominant position, Bryan Leopold just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Alves fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Leopold connects with a single shot there.
Alves throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Leopold's waist but Leopold gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alves off to one side.
Leopold catches Alves with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Leopold connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Nice uppercut lands for Leopold. That snapped Alves's head back.

Alves lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Leopold circles away quickly and effectively.
A nice combination there by Leopold.
Corey Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alves is trying hard to land a takedown here. Leopold sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Leopold scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Alves closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Leopold connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Leopold closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Alves! Leopold dives in looking to finish! Alves is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
