PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reggie Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by TNT. Harry Henderson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Henderson cracks Jones with a right hand to the side of the head.
Jones tries to clinch but Henderson is having none of it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Henderson cracks Jones with an open hand slap.

Jones closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Henderson lunges at Jones with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jones's hand.
Henderson is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Jones had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Henderson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Henderson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Henderson's corner calls for a 1-2. Henderson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Henderson swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.
Henderson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jones's hands.

Henderson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Henderson lands a nice shot that snaps Jones's head back.
Jones takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Jones is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Henderson.
The fighters circle momentarily. Henderson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Henderson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jones's head backwards.

Henderson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Oh Jones is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Jones seems to have got his legs back now.
Henderson lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Henderson avoids a wild elbow strike from Jones.
Henderson lands a left hand that snaps the head of Jones backwards.
Henderson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jones backwards.
Jones pushes off an throws an elbow but Henderson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Henderson makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Henderson dodges an elbow strike from Jones.
Nice body punch from Henderson - that landed with a thud.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Henderson wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
Jones stalling in the clinch but Henderson improves position.

Henderson drops Jones onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Jones is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Henderson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Henderson just leaning against Jones, taking a breather.
Jones looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Henderson cracks Jones with a nice body shot.

Henderson pushes Jones back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Henderson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

It looks like Reggie Jones has been cut.
Henderson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Jones drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Henderson grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Jones takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Henderson cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
