Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robert Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Withrow!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Withrow fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Williams avoids it really well and circles away.
Withrow circles away from the clinch attempt.
Williams fails in his attempt to clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Withrow.

Withrow wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Williams, who protects the arm well.
Withrow is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Williams's shoulder. That is not cool.
Williams tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Withrow wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Withrow misses with the ground and pound.
Williams is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Withrow landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Withrow working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Withrow thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Williams wants to control but Withrow postures up.
Withrow controlling the position from side mount.
Williams manages to work his way to half guard, despite Withrow's best efforts.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Williams keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Withrow uses his free foot to push down on Williams's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Williams.

Withrow is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Withrow lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Williams has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Williams and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Williams tries to close the distance and clinch up but Withrow swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Withrow tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Withrow tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Williams swivels and escapes.
Williams leaves Withrow with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Robert Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Withrow.
Withrow throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Williams avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Withrow throws a nice inside leg kick.
Withrow misses with a takedown attempt - Williams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Williams fails in his attempt to clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Withrow throws a nice looking combination but Williams bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Withrow ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Williams moves away.
Williams blocks a jab.
Williams staying out of range there.
The fight stays on the outside here - Williams looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Williams takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Williams blocks a head kick by Withrow.
Withrow shoots in but no luck this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Withrow dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


A looping hook to the body misses from Williams. Withrow does a little dance to reset his feet.
Williams tries to clinch there but Withrow circles away.
Williams moves in looking to clinch but Withrow pushes him off.
Withrow misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A nice leg kick lands there from Withrow.
Withrow connects with a looping right hand.
The fight stays on the outside here - Williams looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Williams blocks a head kick by Withrow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Withrow decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Withrow tries to stand but can't do so whilst Williams controls his leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Withrow takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Withrow is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Withrow seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Williams does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Williams avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Withrow.
Withrow is thwarting Williams's attempts to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Withrow wants to control but Williams is keeping him busy.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Withrow rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Williams moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Withrow will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Withrow tries to score a power double leg takedown but Williams sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Withrow somewhat.

Withrow shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Withrow drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Williams dives on top into guard.
Williams passes into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Withrow tries to get to full guard but Williams has control of the leg.
Williams wants to pass the guard but Withrow is defending well.

Withrow is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Williams pulls his head out easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Withrow tries to roll over but Williams keeps him under control.
Withrow is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Williams's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Williams's back!
Withrow is not going to allow Williams to sit and survive in this position.
A lull in the action here.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Withrow looking for the choke from the back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Withrow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Withrow misses with a low kick.
Williams misses with a body punch

and Withrow counters with a takedown into side control.
Williams takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Withrow is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Williams is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Sloppy strikes there by Withrow.
Withrow wants to lay and pray for a moment but Williams keeps working.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Withrow looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Withrow in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Williams is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
