PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ernesto Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noob Boob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boob fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rutten lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

and Boob counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rutten's guard now.
Boob won't allow Rutten to sweep him here.

Boob drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rutten manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Boob has Rutten in his guard.

Boob working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rutten doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rutten manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Boob has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rutten can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rutten has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boob is proving hard to escape from.

Rutten tries to free his leg and advance position but Boob is retaining full guard.

Boob tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Boob has a closed guard, preventing Rutten from standing up.

Rutten is posturing up here but Boob has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Rutten tries to roll out but it's too tight and Rutten has to tap! Slick submission there by Boob!
