The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rutger gets a takedown into half guard.
Rutger seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Slaughter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rutger prevents Slaughter from standing back up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rutger connects with a nice short shot to Slaughter's temple.
Rutger takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rutger prevents Slaughter from improving his position.

Slaughter looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Rutger winds up and cracks Slaughter with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slaughter tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Rutger is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Rutger connects with a bit shot that sees Slaughter covering up! More strikes from Slaughter and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Rutger is our winner by TKO!
