The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drago will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Drago tries to bum rush James with a series of wild strikes but James uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Drago throws a series of strikes that have James backpedaling.

It looks like Calico James has been cut.
Drago throws a nice looking combination but James bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
James throws an overhand right that lands on Drago's shoulder, as Drago tries to avoid the shot.

No joy there for Drago, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

James shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. James showed some decent athleticism there.
Drago is trying to stand up here but James is controlling him well.

Drago's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

James cracks Drago with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
James lands a big shot there that rocks Drago but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Despite being in the dominant position, Calico James just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Drago throws a right and a left that James avoids nicely.
