Maeda lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Barnett closes the distance and clinches up with Maeda, looking for a takedown. Barnett pushes Maeda against the cage but Maeda circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Barnett counters by clinching up.
Maeda wants to break free but Barnett has control.
Barnett is pressed up against the cage. Maeda has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Barnett down to the mat. Barnett avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Maeda lands with an uppercut that bounces Barnett off the cage and back into rage.

Barnett clinches up with Maeda and pushes him back against the cage.

Maeda throws a right hand that Barnett ducks under and follows up with a left that Barnett also avoids with ease.
Kenjiro Maeda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maeda tries for a takedown but Barnett sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenjiro Maeda. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Barnett dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Maeda. That did some damage!
Barnett is looking to slow Maeda down with leg kicks.

Horrible takedown by Maeda or perhaps it was just good defense by Barnett which made him look bad.
Maeda's corner calls for a 1-2. Maeda obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Barnett looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Maeda connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Barnett! He's out on his feet! Maeda rushes in and drops Barnett with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
