The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henry misses with a looping right.
Henry moves into range and connects with a jab.

Overeem jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Henry lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Overeem circles away quickly and effectively.
Henry avoids the body shot from Overeem.

Henry is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Overeem.
Henry looks to score with a jab to the body but Overeem is just out of range.
Overeem connects with a looping right hand.
Overeem throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Overeem slips a jab and a cross from Henry.
Thierry Henry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Henry works over Overeem's head and body with a nice combination.

Overeem with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Henry to score with a decent uppercut.
Overeem moves out of range of the strikes.

and Overeem counters with a right hand to the body.
Henry is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Overeem digs a good body shot into Henry's ribs.

Overeem lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Overeem lands a big head kick that sends Henry tumbling to the mat! Overeem takes a step backwards and waves Henry back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Overeem lands an uppercut, right on the button! Henry tumbles backwards into the ropes, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
