Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Waters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Waters has chosen Skillet as his entrance music. Brandon Doyle looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Brandon Doyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Waters!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waters is looking to chop away at Doyle's legs.
Doyle looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Waters stuffs the takedown.
Waters lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Doyle avoids the body shot from Waters.
Waters throws a series of punches but Doyle moves out of range.
A lazy left from Waters finds it's target.
Waters gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Doyle counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Doyle counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Doyle.
Waters looking to hit a scissor sweep but Doyle is one step ahead there.

Doyle tries to stand but Waters is controlling from the bottom.
Doyle not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Waters controls Doyle momentarily but Doyle frees himself.
Waters looking for a sweep. Not yet Waters, not yet.
Doyle trying to control the position from guard on top but Waters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Doyle is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Waters is trying to control the position but Doyle postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Waters is defended easily by Doyle.
Brandon Doyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Waters.
Doyle avoids a punch combination nicely.
Waters dips to his left and cracks Doyle with an uppercut!

Waters seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Doyle does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Doyle is breathing heavily.
Waters throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Doyle is defending against the submission attempts here by Waters.
Waters really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Doyle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Doyle is looking to control Waters's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Doyle avoid being mounted?

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Waters scores with the left hand. Doyle knows he should have avoided that one.
Doyle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Waters circles away quickly and effectively.
Waters misses with a kick to the body
and Doyle counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Doyle shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Waters scores with a shot to the body.
Doyle slips a jab and a cross from Waters.
Waters has his takedown stuffed
and Doyle counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Waters throws a series of strikes that have Doyle backpedaling.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Waters throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Waters lunges at Doyle with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Doyle's hand.
Doyle gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Waters counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Waters will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Doyle defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Waters.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Doyle.
Doyle takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Waters misses with a takedown

and Doyle counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Waters's guard now.

Doyle wants to control from the top but Waters keeps moving.
Doyle wants to stand but Waters is controlling his posture from full guard.

Waters is working an open guard so Doyle takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Brandon Doyle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Waters looks to land a left hand but Doyle moved out of range nicely.
Waters throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Waters swats away the attempt to clinch by Doyle.
Doyle takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

and Waters counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Doyle!

Waters goes for an armbar but Doyle turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Doyle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Waters trying to keep a closed guard but Doyle is proving a slippery customer.
Doyle controls from within his opponent's guard.
Waters keeping moving, preventing Doyle from controlling successfully.
Doyle content to stall in guard here.

Joe Waters showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Waters leaves Doyle with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Doyle uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Waters.
Waters fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Waters lands a jab.
Doyle keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Waters.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Waters cracks Doyle with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Doyle slips a straight right by Waters.
Waters misses with a double jab.
Waters tries to clinch but Doyle moves away

and Doyle counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Doyle not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Doyle wants to control but Waters is keeping him busy.
Waters gets back to full guard.
Waters wants to stand but Doyle is controlling the position.

Doyleis looking to pass into half guard but Waters pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Waters is in guard.
Waters wants to control from the top but Doyle keeps moving.
Waters throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Doyle seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Doyle preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Doyle shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Waters as he avoids it easily.
Waters stalks Doyle and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Doyle's face. Doyle staggers backwards, shaken.
Joe Waters seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Waters is looking to clinch.
Doyle slips a jab and a cross from Waters.
A left lands for Waters.
Waters fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Doyle checks it well.
Waters tries to close the distance and clinch but Doyle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
A head kick misses from Waters.

Doyle changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Waters looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Waters is not content to let Doyle control the position.

Doyle decides to stand back up.
Waters misses with a few strikes there.
Waters lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Brandon Doyle has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Joe Waters is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Doyle shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Joe Waters.
I've got Waters winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
