The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filipovic misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Filipovic gets caught flat footed, as Hitla shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Filipovic throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Hitla is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Hitla stands and steps away. Filipovic gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Filipovic shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Filipovic showed some decent athleticism there.

Hitla kicks Filipovic off and gets back to his feet.

and Hitla counters with a series of strikes. Filipovic will be more careful next time no doubt.
Filipovic is breathing heavily.

Hitla closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Hitla is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Filipovic is just riding it out for now. Hitla eventually gives up the hold.
Hitla is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Filipovic!

Hitla is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Hitla extends the arm and Filipovic is forced to tap!
