Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cooper comes to the cage accompanied by 2 Times Terror - Ikävässä paikassa. Kennedy has chosen MegaDeth - Symphony of Destruction as his entrance music. Jason Cooper has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Kennedy!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Cooper. Kennedy does a little dance to reset his feet.

Cooper feints and as Kennedy raises his hands in defense, Cooper changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cooper got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kennedy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cooper has managed to get both his arms back between Kennedy's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cooper tries to free his leg and advance position but Kennedy is retaining full guard.

Kennedy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cooper doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cooper manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Nice uppercut lands for Kennedy. That snapped Cooper's head back.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Cooper's corner calls for a 1-2. Cooper obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Kennedy takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Kennedy shoots in for a takedown but Cooper shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Cooper bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kennedy's guard.

Kennedy is looking for a triangle here but Cooper uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Cooper tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kennedy swats him away and circles back towards the center.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Cooper takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Kennedy is trying to maintain a safe position but Cooper gets an underhook and turns Kennedy into the cage.
Kennedy is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jason Cooper will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Cooper throws a lazy right hand but Kennedy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Cooper decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Cooper is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cooper connects with a nice short shot to Kennedy's temple.
Cooper wants to pass to mount but Kennedy is defending the position.
Kennedy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cooper's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cooper's back!

Kennedy lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Cooper on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cooper tries to get out of the position.
