Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Bobby Smith has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Bobby Smith seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Nash!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Eddie Farnsworth and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a few strikes there.
Nash lands with a kick to the ribs.
Nash throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nash shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smith as he jumps to the side.
Nash tries to clinch up.
Smith scores with a jab to the head.

Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nash, pushing him back against the cage.
Smith is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Nash breaks from the clinch.
Smith is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Nash.
Smith swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Nash counters with a left and a right that stings Smith.
Nash tries to clinch
and Smith counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and Nash counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nash.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Nash counters with a left to the body.

and Smith counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Nash lets loose with a powerful body kick. Smith will feel that in the morning.
Smith darts in trying to clinch

and Nash moves into the clinch.

Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Smith missing with a left hand there. Nash was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nash moves in looking to clinch but Smith pushes him off.

Nash throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smith.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bobby Smith will probably get the nod.

Well Nash has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
