Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Luck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Kingswood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucas Luck has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lucas Luck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Kingswood!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luck shoots in and drives through. Kingswood sprawls well.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Luck tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kingswood sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Luck somewhat.

Kingswood forces Luck back against the cage and clinches.

Kingswood pulls guard.
Luck wants to stand but Kingswood has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Kingswood pushes Luck off and scrambles back to his feet.
Kingswood shoots in for a takedown but Luck shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kingswood looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Luck is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Luck has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kingswood is working away from the top position though.
Luck wants to improve his position but Kingswood is controlling well.
Luck is trying is best to control the position here.
Kingswood missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Kingswood tries to pass to full mount but Luck defends it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Kingswood is working for a submission of some sort.
Kingswood not landing any meaningful shots this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kingswood misses with a body shot.
Luck tries for a takedown but Kingswood circles away easily
and Kingswood counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Luck holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Luck pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kingswood tests Luck's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Luck has managed to clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Kingswood.
Kingswood tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Luck smiles and moves away.
Kingswood tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Luck swivels and escapes.
Luck lands with a good body shot.

Luck circles away from the clinch attempt.

Kingswood darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Kingswood slows the pace down in half guard.
Luck pushes Kingswood off looking to stand but Kingswood dives back in and keeps control.
Luck makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Luck.
Kingswood trying to control but Luck is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kingswood shoots in but Luck avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Luck throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kingswood's head.
Kingswood fails with the takedown

and Luck counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Luck tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kingswood knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Luck is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kingswood defends it well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Luck content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kingswood gets full guard.
Luck trying to control but Kingswood is working from the bottom.
Luck wanted to stand there but Kingswood had control of the position.
Luck pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kingswood is keeping the position for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Luck sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Kingswood trying to keep a closed guard but Luck is proving a slippery customer.
Luck wanted to stand there but Kingswood had control of the position.
Kingswood is trying to control the position but Luck postures up.
Kingswood is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

and Luck counters by moving into the clinch.
Lucas Luck has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Kingswood.
Kingswood wants to break free but Luck has control.
Kingswood misses with a hook from the clinch.
Luck can't get the takedown.
Luck drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kingswood pulls his leg out and moves away.

Kingswood drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Luck can't do much from the bottom here.

Luck is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Luck is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kingswood is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Luck manages to get back to half guard.
Kingswood trying to control the action but Luck is working from the bottom.

Lucas Luck dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Nice takedown defense from Kingswood. No joy for Luck on that attempt.
Luck avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kingswood drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The strikes coming from Kingswood are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Kingswood wants to lay and pray for a moment but Luck keeps working.

Kingswood shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Luck as he jumps to the side.

Luck has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kingswood uses from the top position.

Luck is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Luck looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Luck looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kingswood is one step ahead there.
Kingswood trying to control the position from guard on top but Luck is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Luck is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kingswood is aware though and is defending well.

Kingswood drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Luck manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kingswood has Luck in his guard.

Luck postures up.
Luck wants to get up but he can't break Kingswood's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kingswood working a defensive guard but Luck manages to pass into side control anyway.
Luck wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kingswood keeps working.
Kingswood is looking for a sweep.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kingswood throws a right and a left that both miss.
Luck thows a leg kick but Kingswood checks it

and Kingswood counters with a shoot takedown. Luck fights it but they end up in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nick Kingswood comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kingswood has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
