Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Ferro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Skjelbred (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerry Ferro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Skjelbred!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skjelbred has a takedown stuffed.
Ferro will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Skjelbred shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Skjelbred showed some decent athleticism there.

Skjelbred seems to be looking for submissions.
Ferro wants to control but Skjelbred is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ferro is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Skjelbred is nestled in close to Ferro, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Skjelbred wants to control from the top but Ferro keeps moving.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Ferro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Skjelbred can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Skjelbred postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Skjelbred tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Skjelbred has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Skjelbred got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ferro has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Skjelbred has managed to get both his arms back between Ferro's legs - danger averted.

Skjelbred might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ferro kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jerry Ferro.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ferro, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
