The crowd seem to be enjoying Kala's choice of entrance music: Prophecy. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kala takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

It looks like Veijo Kala has been cut.
Kumpulainen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kala tries to clinch there but Kumpulainen circles away.
Kumpulainen checks a low kick from Kala.

Kala tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kumpulainen works Kala's body with a nice hook.
Kumpulainen moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Kala throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kala moves in looking to clinch but Kumpulainen pushes him off.

Kumpulainen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Kala tries to strike but it doesn't land.

Kumpulainen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kumpulainen in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Kala looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Kumpulainen turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
