The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Red keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Red misses with a looping left.
Apila takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Red moves forwards but Apila connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Red pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Red has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Apila sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Red wants to lay and pray for a moment but Apila keeps working.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Red with the ground and pound but Apila uses the opportunity to regain guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Red lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Apila ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Red moves away.

and Apila counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Red thinking.

Apila swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Good leg kick by Red there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Apila fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Red manages to avoid it.

Apila gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Red to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Red is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Apila is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Red throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Red scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Apila, as that shot connected.
Red misses with a low kick as Apila jumps back.
Apila throws a hook but Red avoids it easily.

Apila throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Apila moves out of range as Red strikes.
Apila throws a left and a right that both miss
and Red counters with a good low kick that Apila was not able to check.

Red will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Red lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Apila has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Apila and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Red ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Apila moves away.
Apila goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Apila throws a right and a left that Red avoids nicely.
Red throws a nice outside leg kick.
Red changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

and Red makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Red dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Apila. That did some damage!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
