Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jelk Samsamson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samsamson has chosen Brian Jones is bout to get KO'd as his entrance music. Brian Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brian Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jelk Samsamson!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Samsamson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jones dives in and grabs Samsamson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Samsamson pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.
Samsamson throws a right and a left that Jones avoids nicely.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Jones is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Samsamson is looking to stand up but Jones isn't so interested in that idea.

Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jones forces his way into half guard.

Jones seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Samsamson has recovered full guard.

Jones drops back, looking for a kneebar! Samsamson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Samsamson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Samsamson!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Samsamson wants to stand but Jones has his arm trapped.

Samsamson decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Samsamson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Samsamson misses with a takedown

and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Samsamson fights it but they end up in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Samsamson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Samsamson pulls Jones in close to prevent any damage.
Jones won't allow Samsamson to sweep him here.

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Samsamson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Samsamson manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Samsamson's guard.
Samsamson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Jones stops Samsamson from standing up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jones drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Jones as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Samsamson screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Jones! Nice submission victory there!
