Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sean Yuen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross Pearce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearce tries to keep at a distance but Yuen has taken the fight into the clinch.
Yuen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A swing and a miss from Pearce.
Yuen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pearce sprawls well initially but Yuen persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Yuen lands a nice short elbow.
Yuen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pearce has managed to free his arm - good work.
Yuen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pearce is just riding it out for now. Yuen eventually gives up the hold.
Pearce really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yuen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yuen wants to free his trapped foot but Pearce is holding on for dear life with his legs.

A looping hook to the body misses from Yuen. Pearce does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pearce stalks Yuen and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Yuen's face. Yuen staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Sean Yuen has been cut.
Sean Yuen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yuen moves in looking to clinch but Pearce pushes him off.
Pearce takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Pearce looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Yuen lands with a straight right. Pearce didn't see that one coming.
Pearce tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Yuen was well out of range. Poor timing from Pearce.

Pearce has closed the distance and engaged Yuen in a clinch.
Yuen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Yuen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Yuen closes the distance and pushes Pearce back into the cage.
Yuen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pearce avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Yuen drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pearce gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Yuen has Pearce pressed against the cage, preventing Pearce from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Pearce is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Yuen is pressed up against the cage. Pearce has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Yuen down to the mat. Yuen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Pearce drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Yuen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pearce stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pearce is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Sean Yuen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ross Pearce.
Yuen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pearce pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Yuen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A cross from Yuen lands.
Pearce is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Yuen throws a right hand that Pearce ducks under and follows up with a left that Pearce also avoids with ease.
Yuen misses with a two punch combination.
Yuen keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Pearce tries to keep at a distance but Yuen has taken the fight into the clinch.
Yuen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Yuen clinches with his opponent.
Pearce drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Yuen has picked Pearce up - he's going for a ride! Yuen dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Yuen is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Yuen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Yuen seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Yuen thows a huge punch but Pearce dodges it nicely.

Yuen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pearce's head.

Yuen lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Yuen has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Pearce defend it? Yuen steps over the head and cranks it - Pearce is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Yuen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sean Yuen!
