The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Mictantecle looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mictantecle lands strikes from half guard.
Mictantecle thows a huge punch but Stevens dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stevens wants to get back to his feet.
Stevens on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stevens tries to get out of the position.
Mictantecle looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Mictantecle content to control rather than advance.
Let's hope that Mictantecle has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mictantecle looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stevens with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Mictantecle missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Mictantecle prevents Stevens from standing back up.
Mictantecle not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Stevens is refusing to be controlled, as Mictantecle sits in half guard.
Stevens knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mictantecle on the ground.
Mictantecle not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Mictantecle works his way into side control.
Mictantecle lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Mictantecle sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Stevens is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Stevens uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Mictantecle creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Stevens sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Stevens pushes Mictantecle away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Mictantecle gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Mictantecle fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Mictantecle working the ground and pound but Stevens is defending the strikes.
Stevens is not content to let Mictantecle control the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mictantecle postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Stevens stops Mictantecle from passing to mount.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mictantecle keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mictantecle tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stevens swivels and escapes.
Elijah Stevens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stevens stuffs the takedown.
Stevens fails to land with a series of punches.
Stevens is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

It looks like Uzumati Mictantecle has been cut.
Mictantecle has a takedown stuffed.
Elijah Stevens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Uzumati Mictantecle.
Mictantecle takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mictantecle looks gassed!
Stevens throws a series of punches but Mictantecle avoids them all with ease.
Stevens tries a head kick but it misses.

Stevens jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Mictantecle takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Stevens cracks Mictantecle with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Mictantecle looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Stevens finish him?

Mictantecle is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Stevens throws an uppercut from hell that sends Mictantecle clean off his feet! He's out cold! Stevens stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
