Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vijay Jariwala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tate comes to the cage accompanied by Looking out my back door - C.C.R.. Jariwala has chosen The 420 Anthem: Nuff Fire - Abstract Rude as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ethan Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vijay Jariwala!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jariwala swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Tate moves out of range of the leg kick from Jariwala.
Jariwala tries to land a leg kick but Tate saw it coming and moves away.
Jariwala throws a hook but Tate blocks it.
Jariwala lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Jariwala throws a jab but it's blocked by Tate.
Tate moves out of range of the body kick.

Tate clinches up against the cage.
Jariwala with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Tate lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Tate avoiding damage as Jariwala throws knees to the body.

Tate pulls guard.
Tate can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jariwala controls the pace.

Jariwala got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tate has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jariwala has managed to get both his arms back between Tate's legs - danger averted.

Tate keeping moving, preventing Jariwala from controlling successfully.
Tate is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jariwala is looking to stand up but Tate won't let him.

Tate is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jariwala is aware though and is defending well.

Tate is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jariwala defends well.
Jariwala stays in close to Tate's body and controls the position.

Jariwala wants to control from the top but Tate keeps moving.
Jariwala passes into half guard.

Jariwala is nestled in close to Tate, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Jariwala perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Jariwala can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tate is looking to escape.

Despite being in the dominant position, Vijay Jariwala just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tate shoots for a takedown but Jariwala saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jariwala lands a head kick. Tate smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

and Tate counters with a shoot takedown. Jariwala fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ethan Tate will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Jariwala tries to clinch

and Tate moves into the clinch.
Jariwala is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tate is defending well for now.
Jariwala is trying to maintain a safe position but Tate gets an underhook and turns Jariwala into the cage.
Tate pushes Jariwala back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Tate lands a left hand.
Jariwala looking to stall.

Tate jumps into guard, dragging Jariwala to the mat.
Tate manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Tate is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Tate is working for a guillotine from mount but Jariwala frees his head quite easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tate unloads with some shots from mount but Jariwala bucks and avoids them well.

BOOM! Tate connects with a massive shot to the dome!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jariwala can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jariwala is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Jariwala wants to hold on but Tate pushes him away.
Tate lands a heavy elbow.
Jariwala keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Tate is landing with some decent strikes but Jariwala is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Jariwala is looking for a sweep. Tate is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Tate has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tate content to control rather than advance.
Jariwala is trying to stand up here but Tate is controlling him well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jariwala controls Tate momentarily but Tate frees himself.
Tate controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Jariwala is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jariwala tries to strike from the bottom.

Tate drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tate jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Tate lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Tate loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Jariwala trying to control the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Jariwala has closed the distance and engaged Tate in a clinch.

Tate breaks the clinch.
Jariwala throws a leg kick that misses.
Tate changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jariwala tries to avoid it but Tate manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jariwala to the ground. Jariwala escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ethan Tate is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

and Tate counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Tate.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Tate postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jariwala is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tate, into his guard.

Tate is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jariwala defends well.
Jariwala has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tate is proving hard to escape from.

Jariwala looking to sit in guard and control but Tate gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Tate throwing strikes from guard but Jariwala blocks nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ethan Tate showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tate, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
