Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Prokhor Stalevarov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mir Steven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Prokhor Stalevarov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mir Steven!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steven moves into the clinch.
Stalevarov throws a punch but it's blocked by Steven.
Stalevarov is looking to control Steven's arms but Steven gets an underhook and turns him. Now Stalevarov has his back to the ropes.
Steven wants a takedown.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Stalevarov creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Steven gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Steven landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Steven wants to pass the guard but Stalevarov is defending well.
Steven thows a huge punch but Stalevarov dodges it nicely.
Steven throwing shots but Stalevarov is blocking nicely.
Stalevarov wants to get back to his feet.
Steven wants to take a breather but Stalevarov is having none of it.

Steven looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stalevarov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Stalevarov wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Steven seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Steven is trying to control. Stalevarov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Steven missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Steven seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stalevarov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Steven drives through with a takedown into guard.

Steven drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Steven jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Steven wants to control from the top but Stalevarov keeps moving.
Steven slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Stalevarov is looking to stand up but Steven isn't so interested in that idea.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Stalevarov trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Steven thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Stalevarov closes the distance but Steven moves to the side

and Steven counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stalevarov won't be happy with that.
Stalevarov managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Steven.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mir Steven dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Steven shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stalevarov sprawls well. Stalevarov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Steven gets slowly back to his feet.

Stalevarov tries to keep at a distance but Steven has taken the fight into the clinch.

Steven gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Stalevarov is trying to stand up here but Steven is controlling him well.
Steven wants to get back to his feet.

Steven is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stalevarov sees it coming and defends easily.
Steven is breathing heavily.
Steven prevents Stalevarov from standing back up.

Steven is looking to stall here but Stalevarov recovers full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Stalevarov looks to clinch
and Steven counters with a nice body shot.
Steven shoots in but Stalevarov avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Steven fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Stalevarov avoids it really well and circles away.
Prokhor Stalevarov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mir Steven.

Mir Steven showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Stalevarov tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Steven counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Steven is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Steven seems to be looking for submissions.
Steven is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Stalevarov manages to get to full guard.
Steven trying to control but Stalevarov is working from the bottom.
Steven takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Steven won't allow Stalevarov to get back to his feet.

Steven trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Stalevarov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Steven fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Stalevarov.

and Steven holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Steven tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stalevarov smiles and moves away.

Steven trying to control the position from guard on top but Stalevarov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Stalevarov wants to get back to his feet but Steven is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Steven pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stalevarov is keeping the position for now.

The fight stays on the outside here - Stalevarov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Stalevarov slaps away a takedown attempt from Steven, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Stalevarov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Steven has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Nice sprawl there from Stalevarov as Steven shoots in.
Steven changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stalevarov tries to avoid it but Steven manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stalevarov to the ground. Stalevarov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Stalevarov is trying to maintain a safe position but Steven gets an underhook and turns Stalevarov into the ropes.
Stalevarov could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Stalevarov lands a hook that snaps the head of Steven backwards.
Steven tries to break free but Stalevarov pushes him back against the ropes.
A frustrated look appears on Steven's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Stalevarov wants to get up but he can't break Steven's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Steven is edging up against the ropes. He's using the ropes to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Stalevarov is fighting off a takedown attempt but Steven is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Stalevarov to the mat. Stalevarov regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Steven must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

and Steven decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stalevarov's guard.

Well Steven has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
