Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Elmer Montgomery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deon Du Plessis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Du Plessis has chosen Fort Minor - Remember the name as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Du Plessis.
Montgomery displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Du Plessis.
Montgomery stuffs the takedown attempt from Du Plessis. Du Plessis gets slowly back to his feet.
Elmer Montgomery has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deon Du Plessis.
Du Plessis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Montgomery fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Du Plessis walks into a jab.
Du Plessis shoots in but Montgomery avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Montgomery paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Montgomery misses with a head kick.
Du Plessis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Montgomery pinned against the cage. Montgomery gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Du Plessis switches off momentarily and Montgomery cracks him with a monster right hand! Du Plessis topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Montgomery dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Montgomery!
