Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kieran Dawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harris is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Can't Tell Me Nothing. Kieran Dawson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kieran Dawson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Harris!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dawson feints and as Harris raises his hands in defense, Dawson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dawson trying to control but Harris is working from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Harris is on top in guard.

Dawson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Harris doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Harris manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Harris is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Harris wants to control from the top but Dawson keeps moving.

Harris thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Dawson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Harris on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Dawson has his foot on Harris's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Harris works his way back into a safe position though.

and Dawson counters with a three punch combo that has Harris backing up. Harris nods at Dawson to acknowledge the strikes.

Kieran Dawson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harris tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dawson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Dawson throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Harris wants to get back to his feet.
Dawson seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Dawson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Harris throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dawson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

so Harris counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Harris wants to pass the guard but Dawson is keeping the position.

Harris drops back looking for a leg! Dawson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dawson manages to kick Harris off! Harris jumps back into Dawson's guard.

Harris is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Dawson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Harris off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Harris scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Harris tries to free his leg and advance position but Dawson is retaining full guard.

Dawson controls Harris momentarily but Harris frees himself.

Harris drops back looking for a leg! Dawson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dawson manages to kick Harris off! Harris jumps back into Dawson's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

David Harris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Harris has Dawson pulled in close to control his posture.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dawson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Harris's guard.

Dawson is working for a kimura but Harris is defending it quite comfortably.
Harris wants to get back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Harris is staying active underneath Dawson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dawson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Harris doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dawson.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Harris is trying to drag Dawson to the mat but Dawson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Kieran Dawson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Harris.
Dawson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Dawson effectively controlling the action here.

Harris pulls Dawson into guard.
Dawson wants to control from the top but Harris keeps moving.
Dawson throws a strike but Harris rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kieran Dawson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Dawson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
