The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marquez throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gonzales avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gonzales throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Marquez closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Gonzales lands a right hook to the body.
Gonzales scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Marquez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Marquez throws the left hand but Gonzales avoids the punch easily.

Marquez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Gonzales counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Gonzales.
Marquez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gonzales moves away.
Marquez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gonzales counters with a right hand to the body.
Marquez is breathing heavily.
Gonzales wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Gonzales gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Gonzales stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Gonzales lands with a right to the head.
Gonzales throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Gonzales breaks the clinch.
Gonzales lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Good exchange - Gonzales coming out on top.

and Gonzales counters with a left to the body.
Gonzales wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Gonzales drops Marquez with a beautiful combination! Marquez stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Gonzales is looking for the KO!

Marquez is rocked!
Marquez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Gonzales cracks Marquez with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Marquez tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Gonzales pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Marquez is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
