The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grek moves into range and clinches up with Sturm.
Grek lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Sturm pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Sturm.
Sturm has Grek pressed against the cage.

Sturm pulls guard effortlessly.
Sturm wants to stand and escape but Grek is having none of it.
Grek sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sturm's guard.

Sturm won't allow Grek to pass to mount.
Grek prevents Sturm from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Grek is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sturm doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Grek.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grek tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Sturm.

Grek shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sturm napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Sturm is breathing heavily.
Sturm wants to get back to his feet.
Sturm on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sturm tries to get out of the position.
Grek trying to control the action but Sturm is working from the bottom.
Sturm is looking to get back to his feet here but Grek is keeping cool and he's managed to take Sturm's back.

Sturm is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

I would not like to be Sturm right now.

Grek working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Sturm is trying to get back to his feet but Grek has full control of the position and if anything, Sturm has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Sturm misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Grek.

Grek is looking to clinch but Sturm is avoiding it.

Sturm fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Grek sprawls well initially but Sturm persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Grek is trying to stand.
Grek is looking to control Sturm's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Grek avoid being mounted?
Grek tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Sturm landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Grek moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Grek counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Grek.

Grek tries to close the distance and clinch but Sturm swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Sturm looking to sit in guard and control but Grek gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Grek works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Sturm is refusing to be controlled, as Grek sits in half guard.
Grek throwing shots but Sturm is blocking nicely.

Grek is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sturm sees it coming and defends easily.
Sturm is trying to stand.
Sturm tries to kick Grek off in order to stand up. Grek Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Grek has an Americana. Sturm didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Grek is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Grek hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
