The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Diehl or perhaps it was just good defense by Lee which made him look bad.
Some wild striking there from Lee.
Diehl throws a right hand that Lee ducks under and follows up with a left that Lee also avoids with ease.
Nice takedown defense from Lee. No joy for Diehl on that attempt.

Lee shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lee was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lee is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Diehl has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Diehl!

Lee is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Diehl thows a big elbow that misses.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Lee keeps the fight on the outside.
Diehl lands a head kick that stumbles Lee and the fighters go to the mat.

Lee is rocked!

It looks like Rob Lee has been cut.
Diehl working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Lee's head.
Lee is still on wobbly legs! Can Diehl finish him?
Diehl is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Diehl drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lee dives on top into guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Diehl shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lee as he jumps to the side.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Lee moves into the clinch.
Lee with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Lee lands a hook that snaps the head of Diehl backwards.
Lee lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Lee has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Diehl is trying to keep an underhook but Lee manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Lee wants to control but Diehl is keeping him busy.
Lee drops an elbow to the side of Diehl's head.

Lee is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Diehl as he works his way to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lee wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Diehl's closed guard. He's half up but Diehl has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Diehl pivots and extends the arm, Lee falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Diehl! Well done that man!
