PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Coca Cola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tayler McGuinness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying McGuinness's choice of entrance music: 50 i get money. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tayler McGuinness!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cola keeps the fight on the outside.

McGuinness is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cola's half guard.
Cola is looking to escape.
McGuinness moves nicely into side control.
Cola is trying to buck McGuinness off.
McGuinness wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cola keeps working.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McGuinness throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cola's waist but Cola gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McGuinness off to one side.
Tayler McGuinness seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McGuinness throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cola swats away the attempt to clinch by McGuinness.

McGuinness manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cola manages to get himself to full guard.

McGuinness gets to his feet. Cola looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

McGuinness throws a shot to the body.

McGuinness feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGuinness can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

McGuinness working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cola doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cola manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

McGuinness has his foot on Cola's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cola works his way back into a safe position though.

Tayler McGuinness showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Cola is working McGuinness over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Tayler McGuinness is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Coca Cola showed his dominance in that final round.
I think McGuinness has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
