Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Bush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Heath Ledger!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bush shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ledger but Ledger pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ledger connects with the punch.
Ledger dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Ledger shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bush is trying to defend but Ledger finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Bush is looking to improve his position.
Ledger works his foot free and advances to mount.
Bush prevents Ledger from taking his back.
Bush manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Ledger is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Bush is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ledger's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ledger's back!

Bush is persistently looking for the submission but Ledger is defending it well.

Bush is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Ledger has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Ledger cracks Bush with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Bush is trying to escape the mount.
Ledger sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Ledger wants to finish this one by submission but Bush is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ledger.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bush is looking to improve his position but Ledger isn't that keen on the idea.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bush might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bush is working hard here to advance position.
Ledger controlling from mount.
Bush keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Heath Ledger dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Ledger stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Bush to get to his feet.

Ledger feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Bush looking for a sweep. Not yet Bush, not yet.

Bush had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ledger defends it easily.

Bush working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ledger doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ledger manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bush tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ledger got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bush has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ledger has managed to get both his arms back between Bush's legs - danger averted.

Bush escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ledger gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bush has his foot on Ledger's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ledger works his way back into a safe position though.
Ledger must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bush wants to sweep here but Ledger controlling him for the moment.

Bush has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ledger can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Heath Ledger has got the better of the ground game so far.

Bush is working an open guard so Ledger takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Ledger shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Bush works his way to full guard. Good work.

Bush is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Ledger frees his head nicely. Oh but Bush has switched to an armbar! Ledger is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
