Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jethro Sherdog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Gilden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jethro Sherdog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Gilden!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gilden moves into the clinch successfully.
Gilden prevents a takedown attempt there.
Sherdog is trying to drag Gilden to the mat but Gilden just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Gilden gets underhooks to prevent Sherdog's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jethro Sherdog. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sherdog drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gilden pulls his leg out and moves away.

Sherdog gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gilden in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Gilden pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sherdog is keeping the position for now.
Sherdog will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Gilden stands up and waves to Sherdog to follow him.
Sherdog shoots and misses

and Gilden decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sherdog's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gilden not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Gilden wants to control from the top but Sherdog keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gilden sitting in guard here, content to control.
Gilden throws a big right hand that misses.
Gilden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sherdog swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gilden is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sherdog is pulling down on Gilden's head. It's preventing any offense from Gilden, at least for the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Sherdog feints and as Gilden raises his hands in defense, Sherdog changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Gilden has control of Sherdog's left arm, preventing Sherdog from doing any damage.
Sherdog wants to control from the top but Gilden keeps moving.
Sherdog postures up in Gilden's guard and throws a big left but Gilden blocks it.

Gilden pushes a forearm under Sherdog's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Sherdog is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
