Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Wiggum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tani Otoshi!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Otoshi seems to have recovered his senses.

Otoshi tries to lock up and control but Wiggum gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Wiggum is landing with some decent strikes but Otoshi is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Wiggum postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Otoshi looks a forlorn figure.

Wiggum cracks Otoshi with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Otoshi sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Otoshi wants to improve his position but Wiggum is controlling well.
Wiggum looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Otoshi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Otoshi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Wiggum thows a huge punch but Otoshi dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Otoshi wants to work for an arm triangle but Wiggum is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Otoshi is taking a breather. Wiggum says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Otoshi drops back looking for a leg! Wiggum is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wiggum manages to kick Otoshi off! Otoshi jumps back into Wiggum's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Otoshi feints and then cracks Wiggum's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wiggum down.

Wiggum is nestled in close to Otoshi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
