The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Jacque or perhaps it was just good defense by Flynn which made him look bad.
Jacque fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Flynn.

Jacque tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Flynn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jacque sprawls well initially but Flynn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Flynn is controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Flynn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Flynn is looking to advance position but Jacque won't allow it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Flynn in particular looking to stall.
Flynn tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Jacque.
Flynn is breathing heavily.
Jacque is staying active underneath Flynn, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Jacque is trying to maintain the position but Flynn is very close to passing his half guard.
Jacque flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Flynn counters with a single leg into guard. Jacque didn't expect that.

Flynn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Flynn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Flynn trying to control the position from guard on top but Jacque is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jacque is looking to sinch up a triangle. Flynn throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Jacque's body to avoid the submission. Jacque has instead reached around Flynn's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Jacque arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
