Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons avoids the head kick by Crane.

Crane closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Crane looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Crane working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crane throws a strike aimed at the side of Simmons's head but Simmons avoids it well.
Simmons struggling a bit here.
Crane in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Crane wants to control but Simmons is keeping him busy.
Simmons tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Crane wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Simmons parries the strikes from Crane easily there. Crane is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Simmons to escape.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Simmons throws a right hand that Crane ducks under and follows up with a left that Crane also avoids with ease.
Simmons tries to close the distance and clinch but Crane swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Crane throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Simmons counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A lazy left from Simmons finds it's target.

It looks like Brent Crane has been cut.
Simmons misses with a takedown attempt

and Crane counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Simmons's guard now.
Crane throws a strike but Simmons rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Simmons knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Crane on the ground.
Simmons controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Simmons looking to sit in guard and control but Crane gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Crane trying to control the position from guard on top but Simmons is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Crane throwing strikes from guard but Simmons blocks nicely.

Crane stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Simmons has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Crane manages to get his head free but now Simmons has transitioned to an armbar! Crane grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Simmons! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
