Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joe Blows!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Swahili Bob!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob throws an overhand right that lands on Blows's shoulder, as Blows tries to avoid the shot.
Blows shoots in for a double leg but Bob sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Blows throws a series of punches but Bob avoids them all with ease.
Blows scores with a body shot.
Bob throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A slow jab from Bob misses its intended target.
Bob tries a low kick but Blows avoids it.
Blows lands a jab.
Bob takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Bob throws a lazy right hand but Blows sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bob lands with a nice body punch.

enabling Blows to counter with a crisp jab.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Blows is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bob gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Bob blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Blows lands with a right to the head.

Blows drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bob pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Blows. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bob misses with a head kick.
Bob misses with a wild body shot.

Blows gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Bob wants to get back to striking at distance but Blows won't allow it.

Blows has control of Bob's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bob regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Blows swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bob is now in Blows's guard. A big mistake from Blows there, giving up the dominant position!
Bob is looking to stand up but Blows won't let him.

Blows bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Blows cracks Bob with a big right hand but Bob just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Bob regains half guard, as Blows was trying to land strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blows is looking to advance position but Bob won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Blows manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bob manages to get himself to full guard.
Blows trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Blows tries to free his leg and advance position but Bob is retaining full guard.
Blows works over Bob with some ground and pound from guard.
Blows trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Blows turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Blows tries to move to mount but Bob blocks the move with his legs.
Blows scores with a couple of short elbows.
Blows has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Blows creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bob sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Blows is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bob can do to turn this around?

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bob tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Blows wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The referee asks Blows politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Blows prefers to stall for the moment though.
Bob gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Blows controlling the position easily from mount.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Joe Blows just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Blows closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bob is trying to break the clinch but Blows is controlling him.
Bob misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Well Blows has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
