The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mihoff misses with a series of wild punches.

Mihoff closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Silva tries to escape but Mihoff is in control.
Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mihoff on the ground.

Mihoff stands up and beckons Silva to his feet.

It looks like Jack Mihoff has been cut.
Mihoff sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Silva throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Silva throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Mihoff stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Silva follows into mount!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Silva throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Mihoff because Silva loaded up on that one.
Mihoff tries to reverse the position but Silva maintains control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Mihoff throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mihoff off to one side.
Ken Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Mihoff.
Mihoff changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Mihoff manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mihoff throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Silva was covering up waiting for the punch and Mihoff finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mihoff dives in and grabs Silva's left leg, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes down on Mihoff's head and hops out.
