Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matthew Stasiulaitis!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson clinches.
Jackson throws a knee to the head but misses.

Stasiulaitis prevents a takedown attempt there.
Stasiulaitis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jackson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Stasiulaitis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Stasiulaitis closes the distance and clinches.
Stasiulaitis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jackson's efforts to push away.

Stasiulaitis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jackson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Stasiulaitis.

Stasiulaitis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Stasiulaitis is controlling the pace.
Jackson tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Stasiulaitis manages to move to mount!

Stasiulaitis fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee warns Jackson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Jackson has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Jackson covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.

Stasiulaitis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Stasiulaitis is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Stasiulaitis gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Stasiulaitis gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Stasiulaitis apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Stasiulaitis has Jackson up against the cage in a clinch.

Jackson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jackson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Stasiulaitis uses his free foot to push down on Jackson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jackson.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Jackson is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Stasiulaitis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stasiulaitis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Stasiulaitis should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

and Stasiulaitis counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Jackson wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stasiulaitis perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Matthew Stasiulaitis has got the better of the ground game so far.
Stasiulaitis moves nicely into side control.
Stasiulaitis prevents Jackson from escaping the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stasiulaitis landing strikes from the mount and Jackson is in trouble!
Jackson is trying to stand but he's just given Stasiulaitis his back.
Jackson is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Stasiulaitis.

Let's hope that Stasiulaitis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Matthew Stasiulaitis just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jackson tries to keep at a distance but Stasiulaitis has taken the fight into the clinch.

Stasiulaitis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Stasiulaitis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jackson was covering up waiting for the punch and Stasiulaitis finishes the takedown easily into guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matthew Stasiulaitis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Stasiulaitis.

Stasiulaitis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

You can see the frustration on Jackson's face as Stasiulaitis controls the position.
Jackson pushes Stasiulaitis away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Stasiulaitis gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Jackson is trying to buck Stasiulaitis off.
Stasiulaitis is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Jackson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Stasiulaitis's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jackson tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Stasiulaitis looking to control and managing it successfully.
Stasiulaitis lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

And that's the end of the fight!
Matthew Stasiulaitis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Stasiulaitis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
