Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Corrleone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Takahashi Aizawa!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Corrleone scores a takedown into full mount!

Corrleone has control of Aizawa's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Aizawa regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Corrleone avoids the attempt from Aizawa to control.
Aizawa tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Corrleone is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Aizawa is surviving well by controlling Corrleone's body position as best he can.
Aizawa really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Corrleone looking to secure an arm triangle but Aizawa defends it well.

Corrleone has hold of Aizawa's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Aizawa manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Corrleone is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Aizawa can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Corrleone is breathing heavily.

Corrleone is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Aizawa has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Corrleone wants to take his opponent's back but Aizawa doesn't allow it.
Aizawa is desperately trying to improve his position but Corrleone has a good base and remains in mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Aizawa tries to buck Corrleone off but he can't manage it.
Aizawa is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Corrleone is working for a guillotine from mount but Aizawa frees his head quite easily.
Aizawa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Corrleone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Aizawa tries to reverse the position but Corrleone maintains control.

Corrleone looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Corrleone has control of Aizawa's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Aizawa regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Aizawa is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Corrleone is working for a guillotine from mount but Aizawa frees his head quite easily.
Aizawa is controlling an arm, preventing Corrleone from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Aizawa tries to lock up and control but Corrleone gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Corrleone looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Aizawa can't escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Aizawa wants to hold on but Corrleone pushes him away.
Corrleone wants to take Aizawa's back but he can't do it this time.
Corrleone prevents Aizawa from getting the reversal.

Corrleone has hold of Aizawa's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Aizawa manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Aizawa wants to control but Corrleone is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Corrleone fails to take his opponent's back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Corrleone dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Aizawa moves out of range as Corrleone throws a body kick.
Aizawa moves in looking to clinch but Corrleone pushes him off.
Aizawa lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Corrleone at a distance.
Aizawa misses with a takedown

and Corrleone counters with a nice double leg into side control. Aizawa won't be happy with that.

Corrleone has hold of Aizawa's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Aizawa tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Corrleone cranks the arm and Aizawa screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Aizawa, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Michael Corrleone!
