Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Saver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jorge Taylor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jorge Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Will Saver!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Saver.
Taylor scores with a jab. Saver acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Saver is defended easily by Taylor.

Taylor gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Taylor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Saver must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Saver seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Saver stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Taylor swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Taylor takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Saver lands a nice shot to the body.
Saver sizes up Taylor with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Saver keeps the fight on the outside.

Saver feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Saver has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Taylor is working away from the top position though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jorge Taylor will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


Saver throws an overhand right that lands on Taylor's shoulder, as Taylor tries to avoid the shot.

Saver wants to control but Taylor is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Taylor connects with a nice short shot to Saver's temple.

Taylor is stalling here. Saver is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Taylor seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Saver has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Saver really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taylor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Taylor manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Saver thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Taylor wants to get back to full guard.
Saver is trying to control the action in half guard but Taylor is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Saver seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Saver is nestled in close to Taylor, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Well Taylor has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
