Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Khao Dteh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chupa Cobre!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dteh stuffs the takedown.
Dteh lands with a slapping head kick.
Nice takedown defense from Dteh. No joy for Cobre on that attempt.
Dteh lands with a kick to the temple. Cobre shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Dteh throws a front kick that sends Cobre stumbling back into the cage.
Cobre chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dteh can pounce on him.
Cobre shoots in and drives through. Dteh sprawls well.
Khao Dteh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chupa Cobre.
Dteh lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Dteh lands a nice leg kick that just misses Cobre's sensitive parts.
Dteh connects with a high kick.
Dteh plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Dteh.
Dteh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dteh scoring well with a low kick there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cobre.
Cobre looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick from Dteh lands but Cobre takes it in his stride.
A solid body kick from Dteh.
Dteh chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Dteh stuffs the takedown attempt from Cobre. Cobre gets slowly back to his feet.
Dteh throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Cobre.
Whack! Dteh lands a heavy head kick that drops Cobre. The ref tackles Dteh to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Cobre was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Khao Dteh!
