Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zak Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cheol Sannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cheol Sannon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zak Simmons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cheol Sannon!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Simmons or perhaps it was just good defense by Sannon which made him look bad.
Sannon misses with the combination.
Simmons tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sannon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Simmons somewhat.
Sannon jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Sannon throws a leg kick that misses.
Sannon throws out a loose jab but Simmons uses good head movement to avoid it.

Sannon scores with a takedown into Simmons's guard.
Sannon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Simmons working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sannon.
Simmons is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sannon is controlling him.
Sannon postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Sannon wants to control from the top but Simmons keeps moving.

Sannon thows a big elbow that misses.
Sannon trying to control the position from guard on top but Simmons is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Sannon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Simmons is looking to control Sannon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Simmons avoid being mounted?
Simmons looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sannon winds up and cracks Simmons with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Simmons tries to kick Sannon off but Sannon keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Sannon lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Simmons blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sannon.

Simmons manages to get to full guard.
Sannon working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Simmons's head.
Sannon wants to control from the top but Simmons keeps moving.
Simmons throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Simmons looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sannon throws a strike but Simmons rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Sannon looks gassed!
Sannon seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Simmons wants to control from the top but Sannon keeps moving.
Sannon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sannon wants to improve his position but instead Simmons has moved into half guard.

Simmons is trying to work for a kimura but Sannon is defending well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Simmons is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sannon is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Simmons is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sannon sees it coming and defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Simmons shoots in for a double leg but Sannon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Simmons attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Some wild striking there from Simmons.

Sannon shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Sannon is looking to advance position but Simmons won't allow it.
Sannon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Simmons's head.
Sannon is thwarting Simmons's attempts to control the position.

Sannon is breathing heavily.

Simmons lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sannon!

Sannon manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Sannon, under a barage of strikes from Simmons.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sannon is staying active underneath Simmons, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sannon looks like he's trying to stand up.
Sannon is not content to let Simmons control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Simmons tries to clinch up but Sannon circles away and keeps his distance.
Cheol Sannon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Simmons looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sannon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sannon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Simmons accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Simmons slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Simmons tries to advance to mount but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cheol Sannon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Sannon slaps away a takedown attempt from Simmons, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sannon stuffs the takedown.

Simmons gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sannon is looking to work some ground and pound but Simmons has wrist control.
Sannon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Simmons. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

and Sannon counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Simmons's guard now.

Simmons stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sannon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Simmons throws a big right hand that misses.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Simmons misses with a low kick.
Simmons misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Simmons fails to land the takedown.
Simmons stuffs the takedown.
Sannon walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Sannon blocks a head kick by Simmons.
Sannon keeps the fight on the outside.
Simmons throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Good shot there by Simmons.

and Simmons counters with a nice uppercut.

Sannon keeps the fight on the outside.
Zak Simmons is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Simmons fails with the takedown.
Simmons shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sannon as he jumps to the side.

Sannon moves into the clinch.

Sannon has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Simmons clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Simmons trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Sannon throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
Sannon is controlling the position but Simmons somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

Simmons is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sannon pulls his head out easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cheol Sannon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Sannon winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
