Dell has chosen Iron Maiden - Aces High as his entrance music. Thomas Nemecek could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jason Dell's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nemecek fails with the takedown.

Nemecek gets the takedown into side control.
Dell prevents Nemecek from moving into mount.
Dell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nemecek wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Nemecek has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Nemecek lands with some strikes.

Nemecek is working for a guillotine from mount but Dell frees his head quite easily.
Nemecek has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Nemecek throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Dell because Nemecek loaded up on that one.
Dell is trying to escape the mount.
Dell is trying to stand up.
Dell is looking to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nemecek with a couple of short strikes.

Dell defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Nemecek.
Nemecek landing strikes from the mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nemecek postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dell looks a forlorn figure.
Dell wants to control but Nemecek is having none of it.

Nemecek with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Dell tries to hold on but Nemecek pushes him away.
Nemecek misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Nemecek mounts Dell! Really nice guard pass there!
Nemecek takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Nemecek avoids the attempt from Dell to control.
Dell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nemecek. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nemecek prevents Dell from getting the reversal.

Nemecek looking to finish Dell with some ground and pound. This is bad for Dell!
Dell is in all sorts of trouble here.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Nemecek jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Dell manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Nemecek is breathing heavily.
Nemecek wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dell keeps working.
Dell throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

Nemecek has hold of Dell's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Dell tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Nemecek cranks the arm and Dell screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Dell, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
