PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pete Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gesias Carneiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pete Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gesias Carneiro!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carneiro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Martin's waist but Martin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carneiro off to one side.

Carneiro feints and as Martin raises his hands in defense, Carneiro changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Martin keeping moving, preventing Carneiro from controlling successfully.

Martin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Carneiro defends it easily.
Carneiro wants to pass the guard but Martin is keeping the position.

Carneiro drops back looking for a leg! Martin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Martin manages to kick Carneiro off! Carneiro jumps back into Martin's guard.

Carneiro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Martin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carneiro has managed to get both his arms back between Martin's legs - danger averted.
Carneiro wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving.

Martin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carneiro can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
